Ms. Fatima Choonara is an Occupational Therapist at ACPN Al Ain. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa in 2010. She further advanced her qualifications by completing a Diploma in Vocational Rehabilitation from the University of Pretoria, South Africa in 2016. With over 14 years of clinical experience, Ms. Choonara worked across hospitals, rehabilitation centers, special needs schools, and private practice in South Africa and the UAE. Her experience spans acute and rehabilitation hospitals, special needs schools, and private practice, where her focus was on improving functional outcomes and quality of life. Before joining ACPN in 2026, she worked with Amana Healthcare Al Ain since 2021 with a focus on long-term rehabilitation, managing physical and cognitive conditions through multidisciplinary teams. Her clinical experience includes pediatric and adult populations, covering physical rehabilitation, learning disabilities, cerebral palsy, vocational rehabilitation, and long-term care.
Ms. Choonara caters to a wide range of conditions including cerebral palsy (CP), stroke (CVA), neurological and orthopedic conditions, ADHD, and psychiatric conditions such as conversion disorders. Her primary area of interest is vocational rehabilitation, with a strong focus on supporting job placement and functional independence for individuals with special needs. She applies a holistic, patient-centered approach with a commitment to delivering adaptive, goal-oriented therapy based on every client’s unique needs.
