Deepa Shanmugam

Ms. Deepa Shanmugam is an Occupational Therapist at ACPN Abu Dhabi. She earned a Master of Occupational Therapy with specialization in Pediatrics from Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, India in 2017, after completing a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy there in 2014. She is a licensed practitioner by DoH Abu Dhabi.

With 10 years of clinical experience, Ms. Shanmugam worked with children and adults in the UAE and India. Before joining ACPN, she worked at Czech Rehabilitation Hospital in Al Ain and Mediclinic Airport Road Hospital in Abu Dhabi. She also practiced at ABLE UK in Dubai and Kovai Medical Center and Hospital in India. Her work included assessment, treatment planning, family guidance, school support, documentation, and multidisciplinary care. She is skilled at pediatric assessment, hand therapy, splinting, neurodevelopmental treatment, and school-based care.

Ms. Shanmugam supports children with autism, ADHD, cerebral palsy, developmental delays, Down syndrome, sensory processing difficulties, and learning needs. Her interests include early intervention, sensory integration, fine-motor development, handwriting, school readiness, self-care, and hand rehabilitation. She uses practical, family-centered strategies to improve independence and participation at home, at school, and in the community.
