Dr. Suheir Awadalla is a Clinical Psychologist at ACPN. With a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Nottingham, UK, earned in 2021, Dr. Awadalla is a Chartered Psychologist accredited by the British Psychological Society. She holds licenses with healthcare and social authorities, including the Dubai Health Authority, the Community Development Authority, and Sharjah Health Authority. Her academic journey also includes a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from UAE University, completed in 2016.
Dr. Awadalla dedicated a significant portion of her career to supporting students’ emotional well-being. Serving as a senior student counselor at Zayed University for eleven years, she played a pivotal role through various initiatives assisting students facing emotional difficulties through the Student Wellness Center providing both assessments and emotional support to see students through their academics, and personal fronts. Her career spans both academia and clinical practice. Her commitment to education extended to her role as an Assistant Professor in Zayed University’s Psychology department since 2016, where she continues to impart knowledge and experience to the next generation of psychologists.
Specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dr. Awadalla’s expertise encompasses depression, anxiety disorders among adults, and trauma-related issues. She has received specialized training from the Beck Institute in Florida, USA, focusing on depression, suicidality, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Additionally, Dr. Awadalla is a certified Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist, further enhancing her ability to address trauma and PTSD in her clinical practice. Dr. Suheir Awadalla continues to contribute significantly to the fields of psychology, education, and mental well-being through her multifaceted roles.
