Mr. Emad Girgis is a Clinical Psychologist at ACPN. He holds dual master’s degrees in Clinical Psychology from the University of Western Sydney (2009) and Psychotherapy from the University of Sydney (2019). He also earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology (1998) and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (1994) from Ain Shams University, Egypt. Mr. Girgis is a fully registered Clinical Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia and a fellow of the Clinical College of the Australian Psychological Society. He is licensed with the DoH, Abu Dhabi as a Clinical Psychologist.
With over two decades of experience, Mr. Girgis held key leadership roles in both clinical and academic settings. He served as the Principal Clinical Psychologist and Psychotherapist at Pain and Trauma Clinic in Sydney for over 15 years, overseeing multidisciplinary teams and delivering evidence-based interventions for complex trauma, addiction, and personality disorders. More recently, he was the Manager of the Psychology & Psychotherapy Department at Naufar Hospital, Qatar for 4 years specializing in addiction treatment, developing treatment strategies, supervising clinical teams, and implementing advanced psychotherapeutic interventions. Mr. Girgis then went on to serve as the Clinical Manager at James Cook University’s Faculty of Health Science Academy, where he trained and supervised postgraduate psychology students in clinical settings until 2025 before joining ACPN. His experience includes working in community mental health services and forensic settings, conducting complex psychological assessments, therapy, and case management for diverse populations.
Mr. Girgis specializes in treating trauma (including childhood and complex PTSD), addiction, eating disorders, and personality disorders. His expertise includes evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. His deep understanding of diverse cultures allows him to offer culturally sensitive, individualized care. Mr. Girgis is keen on helping individuals navigate their mental health challenges with compassion, guiding them toward healing and long-term well-being.
