Dr. Maryam Abdollah is Specialist Psychiatrist at ACPN. Having completed her residency
program in psychiatry at Rashid Hospital, Dubai, she gained her qualification from the Arab
Board of Health Specialization in 2018; and later became Member of the Royal College of
Psychiatrists, UK in 2019. Dr. Abdollah graduated in medicine (MBBCh) from Dubai Medical
College in 2009 and initially attained a master’s degree in quality and healthcare management
from the Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland in 2013 while undertaking her specialization in
Dr. Abdollah has over four years of experience post-specialization. Before joining ACPN in
2023, she worked at Ishaq Bin Omran Medical Center, Sharjah managing adult psychiatry in an
outpatient setting for two years and other private clinics including Al Hikma Clinic and Sehaty
Polyclinic in Dubai. Dr. Abdollah’s time serving as psychiatry resident at Rashid Hospital in
Dubai saw her handling many acute and chronic conditions. Her scope of work covered
outpatient clinics, inpatient wards, and emergencies for addiction, child and geriatric psychiatry.
Her role in private outpatient clinics had her dealing with diverse age groups and ethnicities.
Dr. Abdollah is skilled in treating disorders in adults and children including anxiety – panic,
social phobia, depression, bipolar, OCD, trauma and stress, schizophrenia, and eating disorders.
She has a special interest in women’s mental health covering different life stages and
circumstances. Dr. Abdollah is a public figure who features prominently in mental health
awareness in the UAE. She has appeared on many broadcast media (TV, Radio) and speaks on
eminent forums for psychiatry and mental health in the UAE. Her passion remains in bringing
evidence-based practices centered around patient care and creating awareness among families in
improving patient’s mental health and quality of life.
