Ms. Leandra Fourie is an Occupational Therapist at ACPN Al Ain. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of the Free State, South Africa, in 2012 and holds a Diploma in Healthcare Management and Leadership from Westford University (2022). She is licensed to practice in both South Africa (HPCSA) and the UAE (DOH, Abu Dhabi).
With over 12 years of experience, Ms. Fourie worked across diverse settings including outpatient pediatrics, early intervention, pediatric long-term care, post-acute rehabilitation, and home care services. Her clinical expertise spans South Africa, Kuwait, and the UAE, where she provided therapy for children with neurodevelopmental and sensory integration needs. Ms. Fourie practiced in specialized pediatric centers, nurseries for children with early intervention programs, and long-term care facilities in the UAE, including Amana Healthcare and Danat Al Emarat Women and Children’s Hospital. She held leadership roles in quality improvement initiatives, therapy program coordination, and interdisciplinary collaboration, and received recognition through the 2024 Clinical Educator Recognition Award.
Her areas of special interest include early childhood development, sensory processing disorders, cerebral palsy, neurodevelopmental conditions, and family-centered intervention. Ms. Fourie is trained in approaches such as DIR/Floortime, neurodevelopmental therapy, and sensory integration, and is certified in ADOS-2 administration and SOS feeding. She is passionate about supporting children in achieving functional independence and supporting families and caregivers to enable holistic quality of life across home, school, and community environments.
