Ms. Jenevie Mongcal is a Clinical Psychologist at ACPN. She completed her Master’s degree in
clinical psychology from the University of Santo Tomas, Manila, Philippines in 2016, and an
undergraduate degree from San Pedro College, Philippines, in 2008. Furthermore, she
specialized in EMDR Therapy in 2019 from EMDR Philippines, and subsequently in 2021 as a
Registered Behavior Technician from Pulse TLC, Dubai. At present, she is pursuing Cognitive
Behavior Therapy training from the Beck Institute, USA. She holds memberships with the
American Psychological Association, Association for Play Therapy USA, and the European
Association for Aviation Psychology. She is a licensed psychologist in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and
the Philippines.
With over six years of clinical experience, Ms. Mongcal enjoys working across various settings
and age groups. Her recent employment was with the Veterans Evaluation Services under US
Veterans Affairs from 2019 to 2022, where she provided psychological services to military
servicemen who served in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Vietnam. She also worked for FlyDubai
Aviation Corporation as an Aviation Psychologist offering psychological assessments for pilots
(First Officers) and counselling/psychotherapy services for employees in 2022. Prior to joining
ACPN in 2023, she was employed with Lifeworks Holistic Counseling Centre in Dubai as a
Clinical Psychologist, where she provided psychological assessments, counseling, and
psychotherapy services. In the Philippines, she served at the Department of Social Welfare and
Development (DSWD) for two years until 2020, working with a vulnerable population of
children exposed to home conflict, neglect, and sexual abuse. She also worked privately handling
psychological evaluations for adoption and annulment cases for three years till 2022. She also
has a keen interest in early intervention for children within the autism spectrum disorders and
other learning disabilities employing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Play Therapy to
improve children’s interpersonal, self-help, and academic skills while addressing underlying
behavioral challenges. She also works with teenagers helping them regulate their emotions,
improve coping skills, address bullying and peer relationships, depression and anxiety, and other
concerns.
Ms. Mongcal is experienced in managing cases of PTSD, mood disorders, impulse control/anger
management, anxiety, OCD, eating disorders (ARFID, picky eating, binge eating), borderline
personality disorder, and family or marital issues, learning disabilities and ASD, and behavioral
challenges. Additionally, she has been a sign language interpreter for over ten years, providing
communication services for hearing-impaired patients. She is a firm believer in an eclectic
approach to treatment, using evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy
(CBT), Dialectical Behaviors Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
Therapy (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Applied Behavior Analysis
(ABA), Logotherapy, Reality Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Play Therapy,
Bibliotherapy, and Assertiveness Training.
