Amal Al Shehhi is a Clinical Psychologist at ACPN in Abu Dhabi. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the United Arab Emirates University (2000) and a Child Protection Certificate from the Abu Dhabi Judicial Academy (2021). She is licensedpsychologist with the Department of Health (DoH) in Abu Dhabi.
With over two decades of clinical experience, Ms. Al Shehhi is skilled in psychological care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She began her career in 2001 at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC) – Behavioral Science Pavilion serving across multiple departments including inpatient psychiatry, chemical dependency units, adult day centers, and outpatient clinics. Since 2008, she worked in the Child Developmental Clinic, offering assessments and behavioral therapy to children and adolescents. Her experience includes individual, group, family, and play therapy, as well as conducting IQ and psychological assessments using standardized tools such as WISC-IV and verbal/non-verbal scales. Amal has also been involved in supporting patients during the COVID-19 pandemic and has played a key role in community mental health education and support.
Ms. Al Shehhi’sexpertise includes treating ADHD, learning disabilities, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), school phobia, and adolescent mental health conditions. Being specialized in psychological and psychometric assessments as well as direct therapeutic interventions,she is keen to supportchildren and adolescents throughemotional resilience and functional independence through personalized, evidence-based interventions.
