Carelyn de Kock is a Clinical Psychologist who joined ACPN in 2019. Mrs. De Kock has more than 12 years’ experience in private practice and in-patient clinical settings, including neurological and spinal rehabilitation units.
She has an interest in the treatment of a variety of clinical conditions, including depression and other mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and personality disorders. Her experience further relates to the counselling, education and screening of individuals and families facing adjustment challenges following illness and adverse life events such as spinal cord injuries, stroke, GBS, dementia, chronic medical conditions and traumatic brain injuries.
She obtained her Master’s in Clinical Psychology from the North-West University’s Potchefstroom Campus in South Africa in 2008, where she also completed her bachelor’s and honors degrees respectively in 2005 and 2006. At present, Mrs. De Kock is registered with HAAD and the HPCSA (Health Professions Council of South Africa).
Mrs. De Kock provides psychological services to adults and adolescents, following an integrative approach to psychotherapy which includes CBT, EMDR, DBT, hypnosis and other modalities suited to the client’s unique presentation.
